Beijing Former Homes Tour

In the morning you will leave your hotel and be driven to the Former Residence of Guo Moruo. Guo Moruo is one of China”s most prominent writer-poets. He was awarded many prestigious honours including the Stalin former residence of guomoruoPeace Prize in 1951. His former house and gardens are immaculately preserved.

Afterwards, you will visit the former Residence of Mei Lanfang, a famous artist of the Peking Opera,on display are genuine including many kinds of historic materials, photographs, art and international cultural exchange documents.

After eating lunch, you will then visit the Former Residence of Song Qing Ling, the late Honorary Chairman of the People”s Republic of China. Her former home has many of her personal items and ephemera on
display.
Former Residence of Guo Moruo

Eighteen Qianhai Xijie Street, a deep courtyard located near Beijing’s Shicha Lake, is the former residence of Guo Moruo, an outstanding Chinese writer, poet, dramatist, historian, archaeologist and paleographer.

The writer was born into a landlord’s family in Leshan County, Sichuan Province, in 1892, as Guo Kaizhen. As a boy, he had access to a wide selection of literary works that sparked his lifelong interest in poetry and language. He went to Japan in 1914, first to study medicine and then literature. In 1918, he began to write a new style of poetry under the pen name Guo Moruo, a name he took from the Mo and Ruo rivers of his beloved hometown.

Former Residence of Mei Lanfang

The residence of Mei Lanfang is located in Xicheng District. It is a typical Beijing courtyard houses, with an area of 1,000 square meters. Mei Lanfang spent the last decade of his life there. In September 1984, the residence was listed as a heritage that is “Mei Lanfang Former Residence”. Memorial Hall was formally found in 1986, a large nformer residence of soongchinglingumber of precious relics and literature were donated by Mei Lanfang’s family in 1962.
Former Residence of Soong Ching Ling
The Former Residence of Soong Ching Ling, late Honorary Chairman of the People’s Republic of China, is situated at 46 North Rive Street in the Rear Lake area of the West City District. The residence was once a garden of one of the Qing Dynasty princes’ mansions. The area along the banks of Rear Lake is quiet and beautiful, with shady willow trees lining the streets. Water from Rear Lake has been diverted through an underground channel into a stream that winds its way through the garden.
Afterwards you will be brought back to your hotel to spend the remainder of the day.
