Day 1 Chengdu-Mianyang(103km,D)
Arrive in Chengdu. You will be met at the airport. Chengdu, a prosperous capital of Sichuan Province is a pleasant city with charming tea houses. To shorten the second-day’s driving, we will head to Mianyang directly, if there is enough time we will visit Sanxingdui Museum on the way. The site of Sanxingdui, located at Guanghan 40km from Chengdu, is recognized as the most important ancient remains of the Sichuan region for its vast size, long lasting period and enriched cultural contents. We will explore the mysterious ancient civilization of Yangtze drainage in Sanxingdui Museum (Three Star Garden Museum) firstly. Every excavated ware is a marvelous art craft for us. Stay in Prince Hotel or the similar 4 star..
Day 2 Mianyang /Jiuzhaigou(307km, B+L+D)
After breakfast, drive to Jiuzhaigou, we will have lunch in Pingwu, a nice small county with an old temple. If the traffic is fine we would arrive Jiuzhaigou in the late afternoon. Stay in Jiabo Villa (similar to 4 star hotel)
Day 3-4 Jiuzhaigou(hiking for about 7 hours a day, B+L+D)
We will spend the next two days exploring scenic areas of Jiuzhaigou to the full. Our first stop, Mirror Lake, is located at the mouth of Ri Tse Valley. As indicated by its name, the lake has a mirror-like flat surface onto which every object – flowers, grasslands, forests as well as distant mountains – are reflected. A walk by the lake will explain a local saying – that birds fly in water while fish swim in the sky.
The Pearl Shoal Waterfall – named after the sight of the gushing waterfall that creates fine beads of pearl-like water drops, is a further 1.2 km (0.75 mi) down the Ri Tse Valley, while the Five Colored Pond is located at the lakefront along a non-surfaced road. The multi-colored pond is an enchanting sight; the water takes on a faint blue color from deadwood and leaves underneath its surface, while in other parts it is darker because there it is surrounded by surrounding trees and mountains.
After visiting the Panda Lake, the Primeval Forest and countless other waterfalls and lakes in Jiuzhaigou, one cannot agree more with the old Chinese saying, which goes: ‘just as one will find it worthless seeing a mountain after he has already visited the Yellow Mountain he will also come to the conclusion that every lake is dull after he has seen the lakes in Jiuzhaigou’.
Day 5 Jiuzhaigou- Huanglong-Songpan(185km, hiking in Huanglong for about 3-3.5 hours, B+L+D )
Drive to Huanglong (Yellow Dragon) National park in the morning in about 3 hours. The Tibetan area we enter is marked with lines of banners standing along the mountain with scriptures written in Tibetan. The Tibetans have a tradition of letting the wind do their praying for them – every time the prayer flag flutters in the wind, it is equivalent to a blessing. Driving beyond several imposing mountains, you will reach the valleys of Huanglong, a scenic area through which a stretch of river from the summit of Minjiang Mountain flows down like a yellow dragon. Small ponds, waterfalls and dense forests scatter in a spectacular canyon, which is between 3,000 m-3,500 m (9,843 ft-11,483 ft) above sea level and interspersed with colorful flowers in Spring. We will then drive to Songpan in time for a short walk through this ancient village. Stay in a small hotel in Songpan(one of the best).
Day 6 Songpan-Wolong(about 306km, B+L+D)
One morning’s drive will take us to Wolong, the mountains and ethnic villages en route will not make our driving boring and we will stop times to stretch our legs or take pictures of the beautiful scenery on the way. Visit Wolong Nature Reserve to see the breeding grounds for pandas. Stay in Wolong Hotel or the similar 3 star(the best one).
Dday 7Wolong-Chengu(about 141km, B+L+D )
