Fuzhou Travel Attractions

Mt. Gu The national scenic area-Mt. Gu (meaning drum hill in Chinese) is located in the eastern suburb of Fuzhou City and the evergreen mountain-Mt. Gu is a famous Buddhist scenic spot, sitting on the north bank of the Min River.
   
Fuzhou National Forest Park Situated in the north suburb of Fuzhou City, 7 kilometers (about 4.3 miles) away from the downtown area is Fuzhou National Forest Park and is one of the ten national forest parks of China.Rare animals and exotic plants, blue water, flowing waterfalls, unusual rocky outcrops and stone carvings coexist in a harmonious blend of natural and manmade sights.
   
White Tower and Wu Tower Located in the center of Fuzhous’ downtown area, the same as Mt. Wu, Mt. Yu has been an attraction since the Tang Dynasty (618-907). You can climb up to the White Tower on Mt. Yu, which is facing the Wu Tower on Mt. Wu, to appreciate the panoramic views of the city.
   
Lin Zexu Memorial Hall, nesting in Macau Lu, and established in 1905, Lin Zexu Memorial Hall exhibits the history of Lin Zexu, a folk hero of China who banned opium-smoking and the opium trade.
   
West Lake Park situated in the northwest of Fuzhou in Hubin Lu, is famed for its similarity to West Lake in Hangzhou. It has been a tourist attraction since the Tang Dynasty (618-907). West Lake Park is the most completed ancient garden in Fuzhou City and is called a pearl of gardens in Fujian Province.
   
Xichan Temple In the west of Fuzhou City, on the foot of Mt. Yi, Xichan Temple, an ancient temple of the Tang Dynasty (618-907), is one of five Buddhist temples in the City. There is a dagoba of a Buddhist monk from the Five Dynasties (907-960), the imperial handwriting of Emperor Kangxi and also murals of Qing Dynasty (1644-1911).
   
Earth Towers of the Hakkas is a unique style of Chinese village architectures. In terms of architectural characteristics, the rounded earth tower is more traditional with the Hakkas and is a typical example of a Hakkas folk residence.

    I am going to go Fuzhou by airplan,and I will spent a couple of days in the city then go on to wuyishan. what is the best way for the 2 places, its distance and transportation alternatives ?

    You can take train from Fuzhou to Wuyishan. It is about a 5-6 hours train journey between the two places. You may check China Train Schedule to look for the details of the train, including it departure time and ticket price.
