The Hangzhou Shangri-La Hotel (Hangzhou Xianggelila Fandian) is located on
the northwest bank of West Lake. The hotel is made up of two buildings, from
the east building there are great views over West Lake, from the west there
are views of lush foliage and the flowering shrubs of the hotel gardens.
The hotel has 382 spacious guestrooms and suites. The hotel restaurant
offers a variety of Chinese and Western dishes. Peppino Restaurant serves up
authentic Italian food, and the hotel provides a lovely (and very reasonable)
buffet on the weekends which is particularly pleasant in the summer when the
chefs barbecue in the gardens.
The hotel grounds are very spacious and lush. Other facilities include a
gym, Jacuzzi, tennis, sauna, massage service and billiards room. The hotel also
has a fantastic new indoor swimming pool.
