Train:
Huainan Railways (multiple tracks) run north and south. It reaches Bengbu in the north and connects with the Jing-Hu (from Beijing to Shanghai) railway line and the Long-Hai (from Lianyungang to Qinghai) railway line; and it reaches Wuhu in the south and connects with Gan-Wan (from Guixi in Jiangxi Province to Wuhu in Anhui Province), Ning-Wu (from Nanjing to Wuhu) and Xuan-Hang (from Xuancheng to Hangzhou) railway lines. The second passage of Eastern China, i.e. the Hangzhou-Wuhu-Hefei-Fuyang railway line, and the He-Jiu (from Hefei to Jiujiang) railway line have already been built and put into use. From Hefei Tourists can arrive in those major cities in China such as Beijing and Shanghai, etc.
Tips: The West Railway Station of Hefei is situated in the west end of Wangjiang Road (Tourists can take a No.111 bus there at the square of the railway station).

Boat:
There are 3 natural navigation channels inside Hefei, namely, Southern Feihe River, Paihe River and Fenglehe River, which all originate from the watershed of the Yangtze River and the Huaihe River and belong to the branches water system of Yangtze River. Hefei Port is one of the planning inland river navigation centers of the ten national economic areas and is listed as an important port of the Yangtze River system which to be first developed (however, there is practically no passenger transportation here).
Local Transport
Given that more than 90 bus lines are available in the downtown area, it is very convenient for the tourists to go around the city by public transportation. The buses from No.1 to No.47 and No.201 of the east bus lines and No.202 of the west bus lines are big ones and all charge 1 yuan per person, while those from No.101 to No. 247 are small ones. There are buses to all the scenic spots in the downtown area. The starting charge for the taxies is 5 yuan by day and 6 yuan at night.

Yes, of course, you could hire a taxi at Hefei Airport. Maybe have to wait for several minutes after arrival.
