Huangshan Transportation

By Air

The Huangshan Airport is located in Longfu of Tunxi District. It’s only seven kilometers away from the center of huangshan City. Huangshan Airport is the first class aviation port.  Planes such as Boeing 737 and MD90, ect can take off and land here.  It costs 5 yuan to take shuttle bus or 15yuan for a ride from the airport to the urban area.

There are flights to Beijing, Guangzhou, Shanghai, Hefei, Tianjin, Haikou, Shenzhen, Fuzhou, Hangzhou, Wuhan, Xi’an, Guilin, Kunming, Xiamen, Zhuhai, Hong Kong, Macao and so on.

By Train

The Huangshan Railway Station is located in Qianyuan Bei Lu, downtown Tunxi District. Wan-gan railway line (from Anhui Province to Jiangxi Province) runs through Huangshan City to to Beijing, Shanghai, Qingdao, Nanjing, Hefei, Jingdezhen, Nanchang, Xiamen, Yingtan, Fuzhou and so on.

By Bus

There are two main bus stations in Huangshan, one in the city center and one at the foot of the Mt. Huangshan Scenic Spot.

Huangshan City Bus Station is near the railway station in Huangshan East Road – 10 minutes on foot from the railway station.

Huangshan City is connected with Shanghai, Hangzhou, Nanjing, Hefei, Mt. Jiuhua, and Jingdezhen by national highways.   In addition the Hui-Hang (from Anhui Province to Hangzhou City) highway, Hefei – Tongling – Mt.Jiuhua – Mt.Huangshan highway, Mt. Huangshan-Jingdezhen highway, and the round-Mt. Huangshan-highway form an efficient network for Huangshan City.   There are luxury buses leaving Huangshan City everyday for the main cities in south China including Hangzhou (2.5-hour journey), Ningbo, Shanghai, Wuhan, Jingdezhen, Suzhou, Wenzhou, and Hefei.

There is no direct bus from Tunxi to the Mt. Huangshang Scenic Area. Visitors should take a bus from the Huangshan City Bus Station to Tangkou Town near the south entrance of Mt. Huangshan Scenic Area. The fare is CNY13 per person. Then, transfer to a special tourist coach. The round-trip ticket fee is CNY13 per person. The coach will take visitors to the Ciguang Pavilion (the starting point for climbing the mountain from the front) or the Cloud Valley Temple (the starting point for climbing the mountain from the back).

New National Line (Mt. Huangshan Scenic Area) Bus Station transports visitors from neighboring cities to Mt. Huangshan including Anqing, Hangzhou, Yixian County and Hefei.

• Tunxi to Huangshan  (through Wan’an and Qiankou): 64 kilometers
• Tunxi to Huangshan (through Yanshi and Qiankou): 79 kilometers
• Tunxi to Tangyue memorial archways:  27 kilometers
• Tunxi to Xidi Village: 54 kilometers
• Tunxi to Hongcun Village: 65 kilometers
• Tunxi to Taiping Lake: 143 kilometers

Local Transportation

Buses No.1, 2, and 6 run to Huangshan Railway Station and No.18 runs to Huangshan Airport.

The starting price of taxi in Huangshan City is 5 Yuan.    After  three kilometers, it’s 1.5 Yuan every kilometer. There are many human-driven tricycles in front of the railway station. It’s commonly 2 Yuan every person. It only takes 6 or 7 minutes to take a taxi from the railway station to the Tunxi Old Street.
