Brief Introduction

Favorably located on the Pemacau airport2arl River Delta, Macau International Airport has rapidly grown into an important hub for the transport of passengers and international cargo since it commenced operation in November 1995. Designed under the CAT standards of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), the airport covers a total area of 192 hectares (474 acres) and is capable of handling Boeing 747s. The terminal and parking apron are situated on Taipa Island, and the 3,360-meter-long (3,675 yards) runway is built on a strip of land reclaimed from the sea, connected to Taipa by two bridges. The airport is well-equipped, with capacity to handle 6,000,000 passengers and 160,000 tons of cargo annually. Currently there are scheduled flights to and from Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok, Manila, Taipei, Gaoxiong and some inland Chinese cities such as Beijing, Chengdu, Haikou, Xiamen.

Facilities:

Shops: King Power Duty Free, located on the Departures Level in the Restricted Area, offers for sale a wide range of local products as well as top world brands. Transit passengers can also shop in a designated shopping area, also located on the Departures Level.
Restaurants: Airside Fast Food and Macau Restaurant are located in the food plaza on the mezzanine floor of the Departures Level. Here, tasty Macau snacks, Cantonese food, and various other cuisines are served.

Airport Lounge: Passengers can while away the time in the airport lounge on the mezzanine floor in the Departures level. Diversions include surfing on the internet, watching satellite TV or enjoying drinks at the self-service bar. Other chargeable services include IDD telephones and fax facilities.

Air Macau VIP Lounge: Here VIP members of Air Macau are privileged to enjoy a diversity of Portuguese, Japanese and Cantonese specialties while reading the latest newspapers and magazines from Macau and Taiwan. The lounge can be found on the mezzanine floor of the Departures Level.

Smoking Lounge: For the convenience of smokers, a smoking lounge is located on the mezzanine floor of the Departures Level.

Shower Facilities: These are located in the south of the mezzanine floor on the Departures Level. Shower facilities as well as towels, shampoos, perfumes and shaving articles are available at a cost of MOP 50 per person.

macau airport4Car Parks: On both sides of the terminal there are open-air car parks, offering a total of 500 parking spaces, free of charge. Some of the parking spaces are thoughtfully designed for the disabled.

Information Desks: Information inquiries can be made on the Arrivals or Departures Levels. There are also city guide services near the information desks.
Stored Luggage: The office located on the Departures Level provides a convenient service for storage of luggage at a cost of MOP 20 per day for each item.

Banks: There are branches of Seng Heng Bank and Banco Delta Asia S.A.R.L in the terminal. These provide a wide range of services such as traveler’s checks, travel insurance, currency exchange, etc.

ATM and Currency Exchangers: Four foreign currency exchange desks are located on both the Arrivals and the Departures Levels. ATM facilities can be found throughout the terminal.
First International Resources Limited (currency exchanging): 0853-861535 (Arrivals Level), 0853-861532 (Departures Level)
Taiwan Compatriot Visa Application: Taiwanese passengers with a Taiwan Compatriot Passport can enjoy expedited visa endorsement by China Travel Service. Endorsement within 20 minutes is at a cost of HKD 150 per person while the normal service (within a day) is at a cost of HKD 100 per person. Procedures for Taiwan Compatriot Passport Application are also expedited by the prompt and considerate services of CTS, with the express service (within two days) is at cost of HKD 460 and the normal service (within in seven days) at a cost of HKD 340. Note that those on their first visit to the Chinese mainland need to apply for a Taiwan Compatriot Passport at the CTS office in Macau instead.

    Is it safe to take a taxi at Macau Airport? I am arriving in late evening and it is my first time in Macau.

    I am from Thailand and I will travel Macuu on the 6th of October. is there a direct flight from Thailand to Macau? can I enter Shenzhen with Macau visa or apply Shenzhen entrance permission?thanks.

    there is a international direct flight from Thailand to Maucau,you should apply entrance permission from the Shenzhen foreign consulate.
