It is said that the reconstruction this time is one with the largest scale and widest aspects since 1978. The commercial stalls that have existed for more than 30 years will be moved out of the Great Wall. After the stalls demolished, a square will be built. And the existing office building will be put into use as a commercial one. Also, a through road from Badaling Linchang to Yingchengzi with the length of 7.3 kilometers (4.5 miles) will be built. Among the work, there is 2,600 meters’ tunnel to be constructed. The road will be finished its construction before May, 2008. Since then, all the vehicles that pass through the Great Wall will make a detour round the Badaling Great Wall.
