Chao Lake basin lies in the midle of Anhui province, 116°24’30″-118°00’00″E, 30° 58’00″-32°06’00″N, between the Yangtze river and Huai River, with an area of 13, 350km~2. The lake basin covers 11 cities and counties, such as Hefei, Chaohu, Lufiang, etc. Chao Lake is one of the five famous large freshwater lakes in China, which belong to the typical geological fault construction lake.
