The Shanghai Museum located at the People’s Square, the center of Shanghai, is an architecture designed with a square base and round top, implying the meaning of the Chinese philosophical thinking of a round sky and a square earth and embodying the traditional features of China. The museum was completed in 1996 with a total investment of RMB 482 million yuan and a total floor space of 38,000 M2. It has a collection of 600,000 articles, among which 120,000 are treasured articles, displayed in the Chinese Bronze Hall, Chinese Pottery Hall and Chinese Ancient Painting Hall respectively
