The Shanghai Changhang-Merrylin Hotel (Changhang meilingge dajiudian) is a three star
hotel in Pudong, about 30 minutes drive from both Hongqiao Airport and Pudong Airport,
15km away from the railway station and 8km from People’s Square. For those who need to
be in Pudong for business, this is a good location, but it’s not overly convenient for general
visitors to the city (although it will be more accessible with the new subway system.)
Within the hotel, guests can try a wide variety of international gourmet dishes. The Chinese
Restaurant serves Jiang, Hang, and Hu cuisine. Or you can head to the Africa Wind 24-hour
restaurant to munch on Cantonese food while musing on the restaurant’s unfitting name.
There is also a bar in the kitschy lobby if you fancy gold flake and headless Roman statues,
but if the kitsch makes you nauseous, head up to the Sky Bar on the 22nd floor for a chilled
beverage and a better view.
