    From Wuhan, you could take a flight to Hong Kong directly. And yes, you should apply for a valid Hong Kong visa in advance.

    We are from Italy and I will be travelling Wuhan with my wife next week please tell us , how to go Hongkong and does it need separate visa? Thank you so much.

    No ferry at all. They are not in the same water system. Need to fly, or take high speed train from Guangzhou.
