You can fly directly from Fuzhou, Xiamen, Beijing or Shanghai. The Wuyishan Airport is a few kilometers from the mountain proper. Minibuses and cycle-rickshaws are close at hand to take you to the major scenic area.
By train
By far the easiest way to go to Wuyishan is by train. You can make direct access to Wuyishan by train only when you start from Fuzhou, Xiamen, Quanzhou and Shanghai.
From Beijing, Nanjing, Hefei (in Anhui Province) and Nanchang (in Jiangxi Province), the destination is Shaowu in Fujian Province, from which you must take a long-distance bus to go to Wuyishan.
If you set off from Hangzhou, you will have to stop at Shangrao in Jiangxi Province and also take a bus for around 4 hours.
By bus
Fuzhou’s CITS run tour buses directly to Wuyishan. The bus from Shangrao to Wuyishan take 4 hours, and costs RMB40. The bus from Shaowu take 3 hours, and costs RMB 30.

Wuyishan now has a total of 1,000 or so taxis, including more than 170 “mini buses” and more than 60 cars (mainly Santana). All the taxies are under strict control, and provide standardized services. “Minibuses” will charge fees according to the standards designated by the price department, and other taxies will charge fees according to the taximeter. The supervision and complaint telephone numbers can be found in every taxi.
