Xiamen is one of the first Chinese cities opening its doors to the outside world, thus it has a selection of 
modern fashions and a huge amount of modern malls competing for customers living and staying in the city. Many of the bigger stores can be found around Zhongshan Road. There are large numbers of factories in Xiamen and many of these manufacturers have factory outlets selling their designer clothing at reduced prices. For shopping, try those markets around Zhongshan Rd, Longtou Rd on Gulangyu Island, and Xiahe Rd. For souvenirs, you might consider the Peanut Crunchy Candy and Xiamen Bead Embroidery, which are Xiamen famous for. The Xiamen Night Market opens for business every evening on Dinghai Rd.

This is the main commercial street on Gulangyu Island in Xiamen and features diverse tourist souvenirs. There are plenty of stores on both sides of the street selling handicrafts,calligraphy, and painting. Traditional local crafts such as bead embroidery, lacquerwares, colored sculptures, and colored figulines are very popular with the foreign visitors.

Where can we find handicrafts, calligraphy, and painting in Xiamen? My wife and I are in Xiamen, she is interested in Chinese traditional handcrafts and calligraphy. Thanks million.
