Xiamen, a tourist-oriented coastal city, appeals strongly to foreign tourists largely due to its climate. Located in the subtr opical zone, the city receives abundant sunshine (a total of 2,276 hours annually), a big blessing for those planning to go sunbathing on the beach. The annual average temperature here is 20.8 degrees C.Even in winter the temperature here never hits anywhere near the colder North. The coldest month, February, never goes below 10 degrees C.

International Fair for Investment and Trade (CIFIT)in Xiamen is the most influential. CIFIT is held in Xiamen every September 8th to 11th since 1997. It is now a grand international investment promotion event and serves as a bridge connecting China and other parts of the world.
